Your financial answers

Quiz answers are held in memory in your browser tab and sent to our backend to calculate recommendations. They are not saved as a quiz record in our database or browser storage. Refreshing or closing the page clears the quiz; you can also clear it from the results page. Planning tools calculate estimates from the values you enter. Downloaded planning PDFs are files on your device: keep or delete them as you would any document containing financial information.

Browser preferences and cookies

Local storage remembers your language and your analytics choice until you change them or clear this site's browser data. If you allow analytics, session storage holds a temporary visit identifier; a new analytics session starts after 30 minutes without activity. Session storage also marks reviewer visits so they are excluded from visitor analytics. These browser preferences are separate from financial answers. Reviewer sign-in uses a session cookie.

Optional usage analytics

When analytics is enabled, you can allow, decline or turn it off using the footer controls. We measure page visits, bank-link clicks, content topics, language, device category, active reading/tool time and optional learning feedback with temporary visit identifiers. Analytics does not include entered amounts or free-text financial answers. Raw events are scheduled for removal after 90 days and daily totals after 13 months. Turning analytics off stops future collection and clears the current browser analytics session; it does not automatically erase events already received.

Running and protecting the service

The service processes technical request information to respond to requests and protect against abuse. Application logs record request identifiers, routes, status codes and timings rather than quiz answers. Temporary IP-based rate-limit counters protect the API. Technical health measurements and aggregate recommendation outcomes are separate from optional visitor analytics. A bank-link click does not tell us whether you applied or received approval.

External websites and voluntary support

Bank links take you to another website without including your quiz answers in the link. If you choose a Buy Me a Coffee link, payment happens on that provider's website, not in Clair. External providers apply their own privacy terms and may process information in other countries. Review their terms before sharing information. Depending on the provider and your choices, supporter details, messages or transaction information may be visible to the recipient. Clair does not embed a payment widget in these pages.

Your choices and rights

You can clear quiz answers, delete downloaded files, clear this site's browser storage and withdraw optional analytics consent. Under applicable data protection law, including Mauritius's Data Protection Act 2017, you may have rights to request access, correction or erasure of personal data and to object to certain processing, subject to legal conditions. Clearing browser data does not delete records held by the service, such as correction reports. This page is updated when the described handling changes.

Product correction reports

If you submit a correction report, we store its message, optional public source URL, the product and version it concerns, and the review status and resolution notes for catalog review and audit. Reports are not linked to your calculator inputs. We do not ask for contact or account details; do not include private financial information in a report.

Read-aloud controls

Read the visible page text. For entering information, you can also use your device’s screen reader. Nothing plays automatically.

Voices come from your browser or device. Some use an online service. The text is read as written, not translated.

Reviewer access

Authorized reviewers use a secure session cookie. Review decisions and source changes are recorded for the catalog audit trail. Reviewer credentials and session details are separate from the public quiz.
